INSTALLATION

To install the application, run the setup file (the one with .exe extension) and follow the instructions of the Installation Wizard.

In the course of installation, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 detects and allows removing applications that may lead to a slowdown (and even the complete inoperability) of the functioning of the user's computer, when being run concurrently.

The application can be installed over the following Kaspersky Lab applications:

·        Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011, 2012 or 2013

·        Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, 2012 or 2013.

IMPROVEMENTS

·       Support for Microsoft Windows 8 has been added.

·       Postponed launch of Kaspersky Anti-Virus at the startup of the operating system has been implemented in order to reduce the operating system's booting time.

·       A module for blocking dangerous websites has been added to Web Anti-Virus, which replaces an already loaded suspicious or phishing website with a page showing a danger warning in case the page's status is defined after it is loaded.

·        The application's impact on the operating system's performance has been reduced; the amount of computer resources consumed by the application has also been reduced. Particularly, the application's impact on the booting and closing time of the operating system has been reduced, as well as on the time expended by the system for switching to waiting mode and sleep mode and on the speed of downloading files and loading web pages on the Internet.

·       A Metro-style application named Kaspersky Now has been released for Microsoft Windows 8. Kaspersky Now delivers news from the website securelist.com to keep you informed of all crucial events in the domain of data security and warn you of emerging virus outbreaks. If you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus installed on your computer, Kaspersky Now displays the current protection status of your computer and allows running the main components of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, such as Scan, Update, Parental Control, and others.

MAIN KNOWN ISSUES

1.    A repeated activation of the application is required after the computer restarts, if the last window of the Migration Wizard was closed (by clicking the "?" button in the top right corner of the window). To correctly capture information about the application activation, close the Wizard by clicking the "Finish" button.

2.    Kaspersky URL Advisor keeps running in Mozilla Firefox even after Web Anti-Virus is disabled.

3.    If the system date and time settings are altered, information about the updates download speed is displayed incorrectly.

4.    In some cases, after the computer restarts, the date of previous updating may be incorrectly displayed in the "Update" window and in the detailed updating report.

5.    The "Update" window may display information about the number of signatures in databases in an incorrect format.

6.    Events are not sorted in the reports window if the sorting by time is set as default.

7.    In some cases, the report of File Anti-Virus may contain "Processing error" events for some file types.
